A note on building with AI
AI has changed how software gets built, and it's getting better every day. I'm excited to leverage that power.
But going from an idea to a live product takes more than a few prompts. It takes knowing what's actually possible, having the experience to tell a good direction from a bad one, and giving the AI the right context and structure to build the best version of your vision, and keep it maintainable and ready for whatever comes next.

Thousands of people want to learn the Bağlama, the long-necked lute at the heart of Turkish music. But the tools for learning it lagged far behind those for piano or guitar.
So we built one. Video, audio, and music notation play in perfect sync, with fingering guides, seamless looping, a metronome, and a count-in. It runs on iPhone and Android, with in-app subscriptions, AI-assisted support, a built-in tuner, and a leaderboard.
SazTunes is my own product, built from scratch. So I know both seats, the founder's and the engineer's.
Monika Wesley
running · monikawesley.comAn LA filmmaker needed a portfolio as cinematic as her work: sharp, atmospheric, and made to help her land the next project. I designed and built a cinematic one-pager with her directing reel, a filmography with pop-up trailers, press, a behind-the-scenes gallery, and a working contact form.
I set up the technical foundation, the framework, a dev environment with Playwright tests, and the deployment pipeline, and I designed the first version. Then I put an agentic workflow on top, so Monika could iterate on her own live site directly, without touching code.
Grundschrift App
master's project · still onlineGerman primary schools teach the Grundschrift, a simplified handwriting style.
For my master's project I built a free app to help kids learn it. You trace each letter stroke by stroke, with a picture word for every sound, and it works on tablets and in the browser.
falk.de & marcopolo.de
running · falk.de & marcopolo.deOne of Germany's largest travel publishers needed two flagship platforms (maps, routing, and editorial) modernized without missing a day of traffic.
For two years I was embedded in a small remote team, working first on falk.de and then on marcopolo.de. I took care of frontend architecture, interactive maps, and product features.
Flowkey
in-house · flowkey.com web appFlowkey's web app teaches people to play piano. It was held back by an aging Meteor.js codebase that slowed every new feature.
I helped migrate the app off Meteor.js onto a modern TypeScript stack, using Webpack to break it out of Meteor's build, and added JWT-based login for the web app.

Native Instruments, the Berlin company behind Kontakt, Maschine, and Traktor, needed its webshop and e-commerce platform modernized.
I was part of the in-house team that modernized the webshop and the e-commerce architecture behind it.

Who you're working with
I started my web dev journey at 16 by building the site for the local youth center, and I never really stopped. Since then I've gained more than 15 years of professional experience. While studying Media Science I started working for an agency, building sites and applications for different clients. My master's project was a free handwriting app for primary-school kids.
After graduating I worked at two major music companies in Berlin (Native Instruments and Flowkey). In 2023 my business partner and I started our own company and built SazTunes, an app for learning the Bağlama, the Turkish long-necked lute. It's been live since October 2025 in both app stores and is growing every day. These days I freelance for the founders, companies and artists who hire me, including one of Germany's largest travel publishers.
Music and programming have always been my two great passions. I love building things that help people learn something and have fun doing it, and I enjoy diving deep into technical challenges to bring those experiences to life.
I'm based between Berlin and Málaga and work remotely, with clients pretty much anywhere. Some days the office is a camper van in the Andalusian hills. German is my first language, my English is fluent, and I'm just getting started on Spanish.
